About This Place

Welcome to Jim's Cafe, a delightful culinary gem nestled at 518 6th St in New Westminster, BC. This charming cafe embodies the essence of a traditional diner, offering an inviting atmosphere coupled with a generous menu that promises a breakfast experience you won’t soon forget. It’s no wonder that locals regularly flock here for their weekend fix.

As you step inside Jim's Cafe, you're immediately embraced by a homey ambiance that feels both welcoming and familiar. Customers rave about the excellent service, often provided by a single dedicated server who ensures that your experience is nothing short of enjoyable. With refillable coffee at no extra cost, it’s easy to see why this spot garners such enthusiastic feedback.

Breakfast is where Jim's truly shines. Signature offerings like the Kids Sunny Combo and Half Benedict appeal to both young diners and adults alike. The eggs benedict has received particular praise, touted as having the “best hollandaise sauce” many patrons have ever tasted. And let’s not forget the golden, crispy hash browns, a staple that some diners declare even outshines those from other renowned breakfast spots.

The menu also features classic clubhouse sandwiches such as the Corned Beef Clubhouse and the Tender Turkey Clubhouse, each offered at a reasonable price point. With impactful flavors and sizable portions, it’s no wonder customers leave feeling satisfied yet eager to return. Enthusiastic reviewers often highlight the cafe's affordability, pointing out that meals are not only tasty but also won’t break the bank.

However, it's worth noting that while the food is outstanding, some patrons have mentioned a slight drawback regarding accessibility—specifically, a tight entrance not accommodating wheelchairs. Yet, this minor critique does little to overshadow the overall experience of warmth and kindness radiated from both the staff and the food.

Overall, Jim's Cafe is more than just a place to grab a bite; it’s a community hub where meals are shared, and memories are made. Whether you're a local or just stopping by, Jim's is a must-visit for those seeking a hearty breakfast and a friendly smile, encouraging you to hold off on that hasty coffee shop run and embrace the charm of this beloved diner.

The Missus and I had an enjoyable breakfast at Jim's Cafe. It was our first time at Jim's but the service was very efficient by the one server. Prices were very reasonable for the portion size and the breakfast was very tasty. Refillable coffee also at no extra cost. Highly recommend and will return to try other menu items.

Jim’s is what a traditional diner would be and this place didn’t disappoint. Reasonably priced servings, glad to say that we were full after eating. The hash browns are the best, heck even better than White Spot. The service was excellent and the staff were nice and serves everyone with a smile.

Killer eggs benny, the hollandaise sauce is the best I’ve ever had. The only real critique I have is that the entrance is super tight and hard to enter/exit, so not wheel chair accessible. They also served bottled orange juice which is strange but not a big deal. The atmosphere was very homey but off 1 star for the entrance. The waitress was very sweet as well. Must visit for the eggs Benedict!

Great ‘old school’ diner breakfast place. Really good value and food was quality for price, will definitely go back again.

I go here every Sunday after grocery shopping. They have the best breakfast! It’s definitely my favourite greasy spoon place. They also have delicious burgers but my favourite is their BLETCH sandwich. They are also priced pretty cheap for the quantity you get. The family that owns this place is very sweet as well.

Doesn't get more "Mom + Pop - Hole in Wall Diner" than this! Good prices, good food, and pretty quick for one guy working in the back. The only off putting for atmosphere were all the kitten stickers and stuffies at the counter. I'm totally down with the old school booths and even chair covers and wall paper... But the kittens and the fake flowers in the bathroom should really go. LOL!
